The Gong Farmer's Almanac Vol 6

The Gongfarmer’s Almanac: Volume 6: Rules & Campaign Miscellany - Part 3 is a Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG Zine written, illustrated, and produced by the DCC RPG G+ community under the creative vision and direction of Doug Kovacs, Harley Stroh, Doyle Wayne Ramos-Tavener, and Jon Hershberger.

This volume was written by Eric Hoffman, Billy Longino, R.S. Tilton, and Paul Wolfe. Art is by Doug Kovacs, Marc Radle, Lauren Barreca, Terra Frank, William McAusland, Revturkey, Aileen Snyder, Carla Stroh, and Mez Toons.

Disclosure: I am listed as a proofreader on this volume.

Although listed as "Volume 6 of Five Booklets", there are actually six volumes in the 2015 release of The Gongfarmer's Almanac. This is similar to how So Long and Thanks for All the Fish was listed as the fourth volume of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy.

"This Volume of The Gongfarmer’s Almanac is dedicated to Lauren Barreca & Taylor Frank, two members of the DCC community and contributors to The Almanac. Down the stretch, these two tough amigos took some hard licks. We’re proud to call them friends!"

Let's look inside!

Dedicate Reliquary: This is a level 2 Cleric spell by R.S. Tilton which can be used to create
a sacred relic.

The Demon’s Conscripts: This is a mid-level adventure by Paul Wolfe which is, to my knowledge, the first published Oriental adventure for Dungeon Crawl Classics. Paul is the owner of Mystic Bull Games, and you can find related materials on his site, particularly the Player's Guide to the Ketsueki Empire.

It’s Only A Flesh Wound: A Variant Table for Bleeding Out: R.S. Tilton's article is exactly what it says on the tin. If you think your PCs have it too easy when they hit 0 hit points, give this a try!

Johnny Appleseed: A full patron write-up by Eric Hoffman, including patron spells. (Johnny Appleseed bucks the system by having two second-level spells, and no third-level spell.) Here is a patron who would be right at home in the milieus of Dark Trails, Secret Antiquities, and Black Powder, Black Magic.

The Virtual Funnel: Making Higher Level DCC RPG Characters with Real Class: This article, by Paul Wolfe, supplies a set of tables that can allow a player to run a "virtual funnel", turning 0-level nobodies into 1st level PCs which have some scars - and goods! - to show for their transition to adventurers. It can even be used, if you like, to generate higher-level characters.

Finally, the volume is finished with a 0-Level Player Character Record Sheet created by Billy Longino.
